Expert Task Forces
GECC convenes and organizes task forces composed of experts drawn from its membership of corporate leaders and the IBLS attorney network to work on specific legal or policy issues of E-Commerce. The Task Forces actively formulate and shape future directions for global online trade.
Acting as specialist working groups, the task forces identify and study the laws and legal policy in the designated area. The task forces enable and promote active information sharing among members on select pressing issues of E-Commerce. Through an open dialogue and carefully planned working sessions, the task forces issue policy recommendations and that may result in written reports or the publication of an article, survey, or guidelines.
Global Summit
The Strategic Global E-Commerce Summit annually brings together the major players in online business from around the world: government officials, industry leaders, legal experts, consumer interest groups, and academics joining forces to network and forge a better understanding of the legal concerns surrounding e-commerce.
The Global Summit is one of the most important annual networking events for defining the direction of Internet Law. The event is a showcase as to the importance of global coordination in play when doing business online.
With the presence of the keynote speaker U.S. Federal Trade Commissioner William E. Kovacic, among many other government officials from around the world, the 2006 GECC summit provided a firm foundation into the ways laws coexist in competing jurisdictions. The annual GECC summit facilitates the establishing of important contacts between corporate leaders and government regulators and the opening of informal channels of communication between the industry, government, and legal specialists.

Membership Briefings
Developed with the assistance of GECC and IBLS experts from the business and legal communities, these briefing papers succinctly highlight some of the key issues in each of the major areas of E-commerce and discuss the possible implications for members. The Briefings serve as another channel for informational sharing and consensus building for the GECC community.
Briefings are issued on a monthly basis and focus on a diverse range of topics to provide business-critical intelligence to GECC members. The briefings also inform members of GECC activities and other pertinent news and events.
In addition to the Membership Briefings, GECC members have complete access to the IBLS Database, the premiere gateway to Internet and E-Commerce Law knowledge.
